2013 Regulatory Compliance Alumni Update Agenda

Complying with federal banking regulations is a demanding, time consuming and expensive task; therefore, a thorough understanding of the various laws and regulations governing your operations is essential in today’s environment.

Our one-day session, Carolinas Regulatory Compliance School Alumni Update, will be conducted by Professional Bank Services during the course of the Carolinas Regulatory Compliance School. This year’s special Alumni Session will be open to graduates of the Compliance School only and will focus exclusively on the regulatory provisions of the Dodd-Frank Act which become effective in January 2014. This should provide attendees an excellent last chance to gain clarity on the volume of printed materials associates with these crucial regulatory changes. Participants will receive a different manual that addresses the Dodd-Frank rules.

FACULTY
The Carolinas Regulatory Compliance School is conducted by Professional Bank Services (PBS), a consulting firm for financial institutions headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky. PBS has extensive experience in providing compliance training to financial institutions and has participated in the development and presentation of compliance training for FDIC and OTS examiners. PBS faculty members present a great deal of technical subject matter in a thorough yet understandable manner. Their emphasis is on dealing with compliance from a practical standpoint rather than merely reviewing the technical requirements of the regulations. (Faculty members are subject to change.)

Wayne Barnes is President of PBS. Prior to joining the firm in 1979, Mr. Barnes was vice president of a community bank, serving as a loan officer and compliance officer. In his current capacity, he oversees the firm’s compliance consulting practice and its educational services. He presents seminars on regulatory compliance topics and was a member of the faculty of the Office of Thrift Supervision's Levels I & II Schools for Compliance Examiners over 10 years. For ten years, he participated as an instructor at the FDIC's Introduction to Compliance Examination, Community Reinvestment Act School, Advanced Consumer Protection School, Consumer Fair Lending Workshop, and the Fair Lending Examination Workshop for examiners. He has served on the faculty of numerous bankers associations' compliance schools including Delaware, Indiana, Iowa, Texas, and Virginia. He is a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager.
