North Carolina Bankers Association Announces Its 2015-2016 Board Of Directors

RALEIGH, N.C. – The North Carolina Bankers Association (NCBA) has announced its board of directors for the 2015-2016 term. Leading its new board, effective following NCBA’s Annual Convention May 31 – June 3, 2015, will be incoming chairman, Bob Hatley, president and CEO of Paragon Bank in Raleigh. Rick Callicut, president and CEO of Bank of North Carolina in High Point, will serve as vice chair. Additionally, incoming board members will include the following:
- Wendell Begley, president and CEO of Black Mountain Savings in Black Mountain
- Scott Custer, president and CEO of Yadkin Bank in Raleigh
- Ron Day, president and CEO of First Carolina Bank in Rocky Mount
- Mark Holmes, president and CEO of Cornerstone Bank in Wilson
- Bob Reid, president and CEO of CommunityOne Bank in Asheboro
- Pressley Ridgill, president and CEO of NewBridge Bank in Greensboro, and
- Kari Stoltz, market president for the Triangle region of Bank of America in Charlotte
Hatley started at Paragon Commercial Bank in 1998 and has been president and CEO ever since, growing the company from $15 million in assets in 1999 to more than $1.2 billion today. A native of Concord, Hatley received his Bachelor of Science in business administration from Appalachian State University. For the next 14 years, he served with Wachovia Bank as a field representative, a credit manager, a branch manager and a city executive. From 1988-1998 Hatley worked with Peoples/Centura Bank, serving the last four years as regional market manager of the Wake County commercial market. He has been involved in his community for many years, serving as chairman of the board of the Cary Chamber of Commerce. He is also a past president of the Cary Rotary Club and past director of the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce, the Wake County Hospice, The Wake Med Foundation and the North Carolina Chamber of Commerce. Hatley served as the chairman of First Tee in 2014, and currently serves as chairman of the foundation board of the Cary Rotary Club. In addition, he serves as the Board of Visitors of Appalachian State University and is the chairman of the Leadership Council of the Wake Education Partnership.
Mike Ayotte, president and CEO of Morganton Savings Bank in Burke County, served as chairman of the 2014-2015 board of directors and will serve as past chairman for the 2015-2016 term.
